Well the time has come to expand my knife collection, this time with another folder. I have handled an SOG arc-lock and was very happy but have never used nor seen in real life any cold steel folder. Your thoughts, opinions and experiences with either of these knives would be much appreciated.
Cheers guys, Tom

Oh and for the record, if I am overlooking any 5" folders on the market feel free to pull me up!

I have a SOG Spec-Elite II ... and several Cold Steel "large" folders ... so ... I like the Spec-Elite ... the arc-loc is GREAT on the knife I have ... but ... I am sure there are many on Blade Forums with more experience than me. My 2 cents ...

I do not have the 5" but have the medium Voyager and it has been a fantstic knife for me. I have never used the SOG though so I can not give a comparison.

Thanks for your answers and videos thus far guys. It seems that both are decent knives.
My only real concern with the sog is the handle (lack of hand guard) as I have cut myself pretty nicely by my hand sliding forward.

What do you guys think of the whole (straight edge)tanto design by cold steel?

I saw that review and have to say I was pretty impressed. As I am purchasing the knife from an Australian seller the Cold Steel is 30US cheaper- decisions, decisions....

Too bad the Camillus CUDA Maxx is so hard to find! Titanium framelock, 5.5" D2 blade. :)

What do you guys think of the tanto shape in such a small knife? If anyone wants to list whether they'd opt for the sog or the CS that would be an interesting decider.
