Went to a local cutlery shop the other day and the dealer recommended a SOG Spec Elite II when I asked his opinion on a good folder with a large (five inch) blade. I like the knife. It opens much easier than I thought such a long blade could. The lock seems strong, and there is no play in the blade once it is locked. He says he will sale it to me for 75 dollars, which is a great deal compared to prices I have seen online. The only problem is that I have never owned a SOG and I don't know much about SOGs. Anyone have any suggestions or opinions? Is there a better knife I should consider for around the same amount of money? I would really like something with a five inch blade. A lot of people have told me that for a folder, four inches is plenty enough, but I already have a few good four inch folders and I'm looking to expand my collection a bit.

I can't speak to the Spec Elite II but I recently bought a Spec Elite 1 (for 65.00 so you are getting a good deal) and I REALLY like the knife. The only thing I'm not completely in love with is the tip up carry. Other then that... great knife. I say go for it.
