Sog Spec-Elite Switching from AUS8 to VG10

Hi,

I want to buy a Sog Spec-Elite (either the I or the II, no real preference), but I want one with VG-10, not the older ones that were made with AUS-8. So I don't buy the wrong kind, can anyone provide this info:

1) when SOG switched from Aus8 to vg10 for this knife?

2) any distinguishing characteristics between the old spec-elite and the new one? As far as I know, I don't believe Sog stamped the blades with the blade steel on these ones.

3) pictures of the aus8 and the vg10 version, so I can hopefully see the difference in what the two steels look like.

The knife are going to look the same. There are no easy was to tell them apart. We made the switch more than a year ago. Actually I think it was closer to two but I don't remember the exact date. So if you are buying one today with all likely hood you will be getting the VG-10 model.
 
Thanks for the info, Chris:) I'm pretty cheap so I was going to buy one advertised on craigslist, but if I want the VG-10, I better just stick to buying new :p Or I can I just try to haggle with the craigslist guy and tell him that his is AUS-8 even if isn't to get him to drop the price :D
