Does anyone here have one of these:

SOGSR02.jpg

Blade Length: 3"
Overall Length: 6.625"
Weight: 3.6 oz.
Edge: Straight
Steel: San Mai (VG-10 Core Laminated with 420J2 Stainless)
Handle: Stainless w/ Carbon Fiber Inlay
Finish: Satin
Pocket Clip: No
Made in Seki-City, Japan

I'm looking for impressions on it. Also, I'm wondering if it's a little bit too small for an EDC knife. Considering it has no pocket clip, I assume it's to just sit in your pocket? Kind of risky considering how expensive of a knife it is.

Looks gorgeous though...

Thoughts?

Don't have that one, but do have the SOG ARCitech with CF scales and san mai VG-10.

SOG doesn't always get a lot of respect here on BF, but the ARCitech is a nice solid knife.

I haven't carried the SOG as an EDC, but I have carried 3" blades for EDC and found them to be completely adequate for my needs. You would need to determine for yourself if a 3" blade would restrict you in any of your day-to-day tasks.

Nice looking knife

I have the version with the mother of pearl instead of the CF, and it is indeed gorgeous. Relatively small... I would consider it to be a 'gents folder' type of knife. Terrific build quality. Personally, I wouldn't EDC it... I'd reserve it for more dressy occasions, but that's me. YMMV.

I think it looks great, and I was all set to buy one until I handled one. :thumbdn:

I found it to be small, slippery, and heavy. The thumb studs did not have the best grip, but I probably could have adjusted to that aspect with practice. Another thing I didn't like was the fact that they use small, plastic washers in this knife. You can get a Benchmade for the same price or cheaper that comes with phosphor bronze washers. I'm not a fan of recurves, but again, I think I could adjust to that with use/practice. Cool looking knife no doubt, just not as functional as I would like it to be.

Thank you! That is exactly what I needed to know.

Perhaps I will just spend the money on an HK 14200 if I can still find one in stock somewhere.
