This is a SOG Stingray I started carrying the other day since the Krayton handles on my old Stingray wore away to nothing.

This is the one I carried when I first got these knives in 1986. (I bought four of them). It took fifteen years for the krayton handles to wear away to nothing and then I carried it from about 2001 to just recently when I replaced it with the one in the first picture.

I've never found a cure for Krayton handles wearing away on pocket knives short of carrying them in either a pocket sheath or belt sheath.
SOG also offered these with wood handles (cocobolo I think). I wish SOG had a few extra wood handles around. I'd get a pair for my old Stingray.
Anyway, I've always liked the SOG Stingray. It's a very stout knife with a very stout blade. I'm not sure of the steel used for the blade but it sharpens easily.
