Well I took a risk and sent some cash to Japan and they sent me this MONSTER!! Its is a beauty but it appears to have lost some of the GUN BLUE on the BLADE..

I wonder if SOG KNIVES would refinish it???? Anyways these are really hard to come by and it even had the original sheath... I would love to know the history of this BIG BABY!! It has the SOG CREST on one side of the blade and it says SOG SPECIALITES on the other..

I paid 20,000 JYP which islike 250-300$ USD ... I want to say its unused cause the sheath is perfect and the knife body is perfect.. The blade does not appear to be sharpen but has some lite scratches and it could of very well be sharpen..

Anyways thought i would share it with you guys and see if SOG can redo the blade?

Thanks
BTW -- When it open you can HEAR A MONSTER CLICK.. Dam cool!!This could have been comparable to the AL MAR SERE 3003 as far as QUALITY!!

Man i wish SOG would make a special line of VINTAGE STUFF!

i can't speak for sog knives the company.
but it's likely that u might ruin it's collector value with a refinish bluing
besides, i don't see how it's possible to disassemble the folder
in order to give the blade a proper treatment of hot bluing.
i'ld be happy with a very rare sog knife no matter what the condition.
a super rare, super nice find.

Good point GIRLYMANN.. Yeah i was just thinking out of my ass, but it would be nice to have it mint... But i will take what i can get

That sheath is wrong. Mine came with a ballistic nylon sheath with the SOG logo on it.

You got a very good deal. They were hard to find 20 years ago and were available for the same price range then.

Sorry for the long wait for my reply. I bought mine in the 1980's new. It has the original straight logo with the Special Forces crest on the reverse. It has the ballistic nylon sheath shown.

Nice collection, bozack! I like the matching "SOG SPECIALTIES" logos on the folder and bowie. Those are some very rare blades.

Thanks for the pics,
d-1
