Hi guys haven't owned a SOG since the 80s been thinking about getting the above mentioned Bowie any thoughts or pictures would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I think that they're outstanding (for the money) fixed blades that cut very well and are really well made. You should give one a try...I own a couple Tech Bowie's plus their Super Bowie which is a beast of a knife.

Best of luck!

Thanks that was quick never owned a fixed blade from Sog just a folder believe it was a Tomcat had a few issues and gave it away but I've heard a lot of good things about there fixed blades and the shape of the tech is calling me. How's the edge retention with there Aus8?

I've never been a fan of SOG's folders but obviously that 's simply a matter of opinion. I think that SOG does a great job with their AUS8, search their sub-forum for the Super Bowie and you'll find a guy that really used his hard and it held up great. I know that you're asking about the Tech Bowie but they use the same steel.

Once I bought and used a couple of their Tech Bowie's I was impressed enough that I then wanted their Super Bowie. You can find great deals on SOG"s fixed blades if you look around and they're hard to beat for the money. There are cheaper fixed blades that will get the job done and work really well but I'm assuming that you like the "look" of the SOG Bowie style as I did and that's why you're looking to buy one.

Best of luck!

Went ahead and ordered it post some pics when it gets here. There goes the money had put to the side for a new bbq grill ...LOL
.. have to make my old one last a little longer this is how it starts. Thanks for the reply KLJ

I hope that you enjoy using it! I forgot to mention that I have a few year old Seal Pup Elite (plain edge). I've used that knife like crazy around the house for jobs I'd rather not use some of my more expensive knives on and its AUS8 blade has held up fantastic for me and is very easy to touch up when needed. I bought it on a whim and little did I know just how useful it would turn out to be, its big enough for most tougher jobs yet still small enough to handle smaller jobs that you'd usually use your folder on. I think I bought that for about $65 and its turned to to be a great deal.

Best of luck!
