Just got another straight battle mistress for my collection and this one came in the busse cordura sheath with kydex insert. Well the BM herself is obviously either on the shelf or being fondled by me
so the sheath is all alone. Since the sheath was all alone I decided to try something new.
The SOG Tigetshard has a 0.25" x 9.0" x 1.5" blade, so its not too far off from the basic dimensions of a busse battle mistress. This sheath works better with the Tigershark than it does with the BM, great fit and retention. Don't get me wrong,if all you want is a bare bones kydex sheath then the SOG OEM sheath is what you want. However the busse cordura/kydex sheath gives a few added bonuses in my view.
First bonus is the actual attachment and leg ride. The Busse sheath gives a much more secure feeling when attached to your belt, and has much less flopping around against the leg. I'm imaging this will also be very nice especially when I'm wearing shorts. When I took my edc tigershark hiking, the kydex sheath would scratch my leg every time I knelt down for something. Since the busse's outer layer is cordura thats wouldn't happen. The second big bonus is the added carry pouch on the busse sheath, it fits mid-sized folders and multi tools great, which means not having to wear another pouch. Here are two pics if if interested...

Heard a lot of people say that they don't like the standard busse sheath that comes with their BM, well here ya go....sell them to tigershark owners
Ok, I'll stop rambling now, have a good weekend all.....
