Hey guys,

Been really wanting to try out a sog, and I like the tigershark. However I absolutely despise serrations.

Did they ever make a non-serrated version?

Thanks.

They did, take a look at the SOG Collector's site. However you don't wanna be using one of those since they are discontinued and are hard to find! You can maybe get a regular Tigershark Elite and grind the serrations off.

yep, way back in the old days SOG's Tigershark (and several other SOG models) used SK-5 carbon steel. Great stuff that SK-5, takes and holds a fantastic edge. And those knives had no serrations.
I have an SK-5 Tigershark and is my most-favorite big knife. Whenever I go out in the field it goes too.

As for serrations these days, just grind 'em off. My pal did that on my SOG Recondo. Here's a "before" picture of a Recondo, I don't have the "after" available:

I'm not a fan of serrations, and my pal is really not a fan of serrations, so he got out some sort of tool and went crazy ..... no more serrations (and he rounded-off the tanto too). Having a one-of-a-kind, custom-ground, garage-modified, formerly-factory SOG knife is kinda cool, too.

Cheers,

Carl

I have an AUS-6 powdercoated version with a plain edge. I bought it used on the auction site a few years ago. I'm pretty happy with it.

It seems like they would offer all of there blades with serrations as an option. I think the only Seal knives it's an option on is the Pup.
I asked Chris about the Seal Team Elite, if they where thinking about offering it without serrations. He said they had no future plans as far as he was aware of. To bad, I would buy one & a Tigershark if they would offer them un-serrated.
