SOG Tomcat 3.0 Came in today!

Well, when I got home from shcool today, there was a certain package waiting for me at home.
After ripping open the FedEx box, and handling the knife for the first time I have to say that i am seriously impressed.
This was my first experience with SOG's Arc Lock and man, is it ever smooth!
A flick of the finger and the knife opens right up, just coasts right open, almost like a graceful assisted open. Totally amazing.
It also came absolutely razor sharp. Sharpest knife out of the box I've ever seen.
The lock up on it is also extremely solid, with absolutely no blade play whatsoever.
Well, here are some pics, I took right after I got it.
There's one comparing it to a SOG Twitch II for size comparison.

Oh yeah, one question: does anybody know what material the black spacer is that fills in the gap between the liners along the spine of the knife? It feels kinda like Zytel to me but I can't be sure.

How does it carry? I was looking at one before I got the Manix, and am still interested in picking one up for the right price.

Is it shaving sharp NIB? I'm asking because my seal2000 was pretty dull when I first got it and took about an hour to get it shaving sharp.

Great pictures too! I need to get one of those, I have been waiting for the Tomcat with studs (gen II) and ARC lock Gen III. As a bonus, they put a great steel in too!

It doesn't have a pocket clip, but comes with a nice nylon sheath that can be mounted vertiacally or horizontally.

As far as sharpness goes, this thing came CRAZY SHARP!!
It is one of the sharpest factory edges I have seen.
I think the VG-10 steel the knife is made of is the most responsible for the knife being even capable of acquiring such a sharp edge.

Wow sogs pics in their catalog and web site dont do that knife justice. Here i was planning on buying another flash2 ahh well heheh.

arrrg just noticed no pocket clip thats all but a must for me sucks to cause i like the knife alot. Heres hopeing they make a version with a clip soon.

That's unfortunate, becasue it really is a nice knife.
And unfortunately, I don't believe any of the previous Tomcats had pocket clips either.
But on a positive note, the knife by itself rides very comfortably in the pocket without the sheath. It doesn't bother me because it doesn't seem to move around very much, the kraton scales keep it held in place due to their "sticky", rubber like qualities, so it sits vertically at the bottom of my pocket without moving around all over the place.

Yeh thing is though with my current job im working around blood all day long. Working at a meat market. So digging around in my pocket hehe, I was looking at the vision line as well. The mini xray and xray are both nice but the vision really peaks my intrest.

At some point im getting a few sogs but right now got to knd of find one i really really want and get it. goin to check the buy sell etc forum here and see if any are posted. Heck maybe ill get lucky find one where the price for the better member ship and the knife are less than the price of a new one.
