Has anyone here held, used or owned a new model 3.0 Tomcat? What is it like and what do you think of the steel? Bob

I really don't like the grip. For whatever reason there is a hump at the rear. I wish they would have stuck with the older grip shape. Plus, there is no pocket clip.
One the plus side, the blade shape is great-classic Tomcat, and the action seems smooth.
As far as buying one, I think I'll wait for 3.5

was there ever a Tomcat with a clip?

I have a Tomcat cocobolo and I can't think of anything that would mar the design like a clip would. Mine came with a nylon sheath.

I haven't seen the new Tomcat. I've heard it is of similar dimensions as the previous models. The prior models are far too big to use as a knife with a pocket clip! Big and heavy. Also, with extra "sticky/grippy" kraton slabs, it would be highly difficult to slide the Tomcat out of its grip on the pocket edge.

Your thoughts help me to decide. I like sticky grips, I love the blade design, too big for a pocket clip to hold it in a pocket is nice, I like pocket clips If they help hold it in your pocket and do not get in the way of your hand. So for me maybe a Tomcat 3.0 plus the future knives as well, who knows. Thanks for the input. Have a great fun, warm not hot, mild summer. Bob

3.0 is a lot lighter than the previous models. The handle was not the grippy type like the others. I think a clip would work fine on this version.
But the main thing was the grip shape. It felt nothing like to the old Tomcat. It just didn't feel right. Sorry I can't explain this further. Maybe its just me and I hope others can explain it better, or give a different opinion.
