Hey everybody, i'm a noob and this is my first post. I just bought a sog tomcat 3.0, pretty cool knife. i'm wondering about availibilty replacement handles such as cocobolo (not sure of spelling) or other type handles. also I own a couple of benchmades whose policy voids warranty if you dissasemble knife. Is that true with sog as well? sometimes its nesscesary in order to clean properly. thanks

Technically taking the knife apart will void the warranty. But I can not say that we would not warranty a knife if you had taken it apart once or twice to clean it.
Sorry to be so vague, but the majority of our warranty claims are handled on a case by case basis and most likely you would be just find if you took the knife apart to clean it. If you took it apart and modified something then that would definitely void the warranty.

Not what is there. So just to clarify the knife would technically be out of warranty but we would most likely still warranty it. Am I making any sense right now? Basically don't worry about taking you knife apart as long as you do not modify anything....

Check out the Archetech... that's pretty close, albeit more expensive. Awesome looking knife, I know I want one!Chris, any chance that SOG is going to come out with a cocobolo handled 3.0 Tomcat like the ones that were done for the original Tomcats? Even if they cost more I'm betting they would be a big seller as I know I would be getting one!:thumbup:
