SOG Tomcat II Question

I have the opportunity to buy an older Tomcat and I was wondering if someone here could tell me what the pivot pin diameter is? This always has seemed to be a weak link in my mind on a folder, but the Tomcat is certainly a heavy duty knife. Any other thoughts or or opinions on the Tomcat series would certainly be welcome.

I also understand that the bolsters are induction welded; questions is, welded to what, the liners or the pivot pin? If to the pivot, that would make for one very stout assembly, but it would seem very difficult to make. Thanks.

I can't answer your questions as I don't know the answers, but I can honestly say that if you buy a tomcat 1,2 or 3 you'll be pleased, and own one of the toughest folders ever made! I have a 2 and a 3 and will buy a 1 as soon as I find one in new condition. Another knife you might want to look at is the
SOGWNDER 1 and 2 they are made a lot like the tomcats and are also mighty fine.

The SOG II's come up on eBay quite often. With shipping from Australia I paid $121.00. I can't find a SOG I anywhere. Any ideas anyone?
