Just wondering if anyone has any experience with one of these. Looks to be a good knife at a fair price.

I actually just found out about this knife recently. I really like what I know of it so far. I love the blade shape, great steel, cool lock, just needs a clip and it seems like it may be a little bulky.

Just realized that it just came out in July, which explains why I haven't heard of it.

I love it. Considering buying one myself. The SOG locking system (which may be licensed from BM, I don't know) is as strong as it gets. And in VG-10. How can one go wrong with this beauty?

From the looks it doesn't look like it would be too hard to make some kind of clip for it.

Looks good to me, but I wish they put FRN on the handle instead of Kraton.

Historically, they have used Kraton on the Tomcats, and Sidewinders. I Dont like it either, and am planning on purchasing one, and putting ironwood scales on it. As far as I can tell, the scales are screwed onto this one, making the changeout MUCH more easy.

I like original:

Thanks, Vassili.

Have to admit I'm a fan of the original too. I think the lockback suited this knife perfectly. I think it has a cleaner look to it.

The Tomcat 3 just looks awkward to me.

I like the brutal looks of the old tomcat and sidewinder, but find the shape and thickness of the blade not pleasant to work with.

I like the fact they are getting away from the AUS 6/440 steel they always used in those models. ( for awhile they mislabled the Aus 6 steel so as not to "confuse" the consumer") They did look good but it was hard to sharpen without scratching the blade up.

This model with VG10 is probably the best steel they've ever used, always a SOG complaint. ( I consider it better than the ATS 34 steel in the X ray vision. The BG 42 would be better if they hadn't had heat treating troubles with blade tip breakage ( rumor) and they backed down from a RC of 62 to ? before they dropped them.)

SK-5 ( japanese W2) is a decent steel for their bowie but thay never used it in the folders. Joe
