Does anyone own one yet and if so what did ya think?

I handled one at the Knife Shoppe in Ft. Mill SC and I was a little impressed.
The handles are actually more comfortable than they appear, and they look stylish too.
As I recall, the assisted opening was strong with positive lock-up.

Well thats encouraging I felt the handle at first to be a PITA but got used to the looks after looking at it a few times can't wait for mine to arrive!

It's a very beautiful and cool knife and the assisted opening is very "adictive"(sorry my english isnt very good) .But I managed to broke one of dem by pressing the screw which join the blade and the handle too much with a screwdriver . I send it back to SOG and they sent me a new one immediatly . This one looks stronger! there was maybe a malfunction with the first...It's long and hasardous to disassemble and regulate so y concil you to not try. excuse my english...

Well I got my SOG Topo Meridian M46 in the mail a few days ago and was impressed with the looks and features however:mad: ................... the SOG Assisted opening (SAT) feature was less then expected in fact mine did not even go into locked position after the initial blade throw! I worked it a bit and still the blade would only open up halfway in its travel to fully open locked position hmmmmmm  I thought perhaps the pivots too tight so I loosened the pivot screw and much to my dismay still didn't work. Next thing was to lube the pivot with some Militec-1 lube I did the pivot, the lock, the safety button, scale laminations etc. let it set and only then did it start to give a bit it seems to work fine now and I contacted SOG about this they said "Send it in" for warranty evaluation:p well another thing I noticed is some differences in the way it looks compared to the pics on their website, #1. pocket clip on mine has one screw securing it, the pics on the website show 3 screws, #2. thumbstuds are different, #3. the number of screws securing the scales and there location are different then mine hmmmmmm mine has less, #4. the number of serrations on the lock for opening is different mine has 9 the pics show 5, #6. mine has a lanyard hole (who needs that?) the model on the website has none another strange anomoly...... perhaps the pics are of prototypes and mine's an updated version or vice versa anyway I sent the email to SOG warranty about these differences and hope to resolve this difference and the blade opening feature otherwise its a COOL knife!

Sorry to hear about the problems you are having with you Topo Meridian. Did you send it back to be inspected. If not please do and we will correct any problems with the knife.

The pictures on the website are of the first prototypes we had made. So the production ones are going to vary slightly from the images. We are actually in the process of updating and redoing the SOG website. So during that process we will also be updating all images.

If there is anything else you need please let us know.

Thanks
Chris

The sense I got from reading some early reviews a few months ago was that the knife had some bugs that needed to be worked out.

I would guess that the seller you bought from got one of these first run knives and decided to unload it.

Apparently SOG has fixed these bugs and also tweaked the design elements a bit since then.

I've found their warranty service and turnaround time to be terrific; I recommend that you send it to them. I think you'll be happy with what they send back to you.

Yes perhaps some earlier one did exhibit some flaws or problems however I certainly feel assured that I can get this problem resolved!

Definitely!
Please keep us posted.

I have a SOG Meridian with the satin blade and I love it. It is very light and perfect for EDC. The assisted opening is lightning fast, and it is a gorgeous knife.:)

i just got one of these.
beautiful looking knife - not quite sure on the AO though - no way I can open it with the thumb stud one handed - its just too tight and it takes quite a shove on the blade kick to get the AO to happen.

I tried a flash ii in store and found the SAT to be way more user friendly. Is this sort of resistance normal on the Meridian? Or is it just new and needs some time to "loosen up" ?

i`ve had one for a while and love it . i`m much more of a spyderco man these days though , as they don`t manufacture all their knives in shithouse taiwan like sog now does
