SOG Trident Arc Lock Mechanism Question

Hello, I'm about to get a SOG Trident from a trade I recently did with someone. I was wondering if it was possible to deactivate the assisted mechanism in it? I looked up a video on how it works, and it looks like it can be done, do I just take out the coil-spring and leave everything else in and it will work like a manual folder? I'm assuming it will behave like a Benchmade Griptilian with that arc-lock... is that true, or am I missing something here? Thanks.

I just got one in a trade today nice little knife I left the assisted but sure there would be no reason why you couldn't just remove the coil spring but I don't know if it would have a detent to keep it closed

Well yes, that is my question, I was wondering if that arc lock would behave like a detent, since there's a spring inside of the knife that is constantly putting pressure on it?
