SOG Trident Folder

I have one. Personally I think you can get way better for way cheaper. It just feels pretty weak and flimsy. I'd take a Spyderco Native, Endura, or Delica any day over the SOG. Better steel and better construction. Any of the Spyderco's feel way more solid. I originally bought the SOG because I thought it looked cool (before I started collecting knives), and haven't even bothered looking at it since I got the knives mentioned above.

I have had one for over a year, and it is one strong heavy duty folder. The lock is solid. It is also very sharp and has a sliding button, to lock the blade closed.

wushuguy, that's great -- I just recommended the Native, Endura, and Delica in his other thread. :)

cashmancooley, if you like the looks of the Trident, take a look at the Ka-Bar Mule. I just got a plain edge Desert Mule, and it is an outstanding heavy duty knife. However, it is also a very heavy knife.

They feel good in the hand, I like the blade design, but I wish the blade was a bit thicker.

I like it a lot, but I don't consider it any kind of super strong and durable knife.

It's got great AO action, a great lock, and it's real comfortable in the hand.
It's also very sharp; and light in weight for a sizeable knife.

But it a Zytel handle without dual liners, and good but not great steel.

So - again - I really like the knife, I have one in satin and one in black serrated.
But for EDC, I'd take an Endura over it any day of the week.

I like mine. I got it a couple weeks ago and though I haven't used it too terribly much, i like it quite a bit so far. I've used the Groove, but i don't think it would work too well with heavier stuff, it doesn't seem like a seatbelt or cord-cutter. I like the "SAT" and the lock is solid. Fit's great in my hand and is incredibly sharp.
