info from www.sogknives.com

The SOG Trident uses our well-proven means of delivering a knife blade to the open position with S.A.T. (SOG Assisted Technology™) Now using our patent pending Arc-Actuator™, the Trident locks stronger and releases easier. There is also a built-in safety to lock the blade closed. When it shows red, you are ready to go.

What also makes the Trident so unique is the patent pending Groove™ in the handle, which allows the operator to cut paracord, fishing line, etc. without having to open the blade. The handle also includes a Digi-Grip™ variable pattern for coarser grip in areas that require it. Our bayonet style clip is easily switched for right/left hand carry or removed for pouch storage.

what do you guys think? you can get it all day long on amazon for around $60 and it sounds pretty good to me, but i am a noob here, and looking for some of you vets to voice your opinions. thanks

had one got rid of it.....feels cheap in your hand. if sog made it with some liners i think it would be better. you can do better for your 60 bucks imo

Also sits TOO low for me. I was playing around with one at work today, and it is a slow draw. The butt of the knife hits your pants edge and makes it tough to pull.

Light handle, good blade. I can get one to hair popping sharp with a few passes on some ceramic croc sticks.

Overall, I'd give it at 6/10 for difficulty of draw.

Not a bad knife, but I was surprised at how thin the blade is. Good slicer but not what I need for heavy use. I prefer a Spyderco Endura.

Impulse purchase when I was a knife noob, too hard to draw, cheap feeling handles and plastic washers. The S.A.T. is pretty worn out and needs a new spring--I've emailed SOG 2 times, and still no response. Mine just sits in its box now...

You could get a good Kershaw, Benchmade, or Spyderco for the price.
