I bought a New Sog Twitch II about a week and a half ago and It came with alot of side to side blade play is this normal with sog or should I send it in? it appears to be a very nice knife but the blade play is really bothering me and i think it is effecting the deployment of the knife

adjust the pivot screw, tighten it up most of the way and back it up until it opens smoothly and there is no play.

Would not say it is normal. I've got 2 Twitch XLs, both have zero blade play of any kind.
I assume you tried adjusting it? If so I'd be inclined to send it back...play, particularly in that knife, would be extremely annoying.

Txmn321, this can be easily fixed. I had some blade play in a Trident folder. I lubed up the pivot area and the blade where it contacts the inside of the handle with gun oil (a thick oil) and then tightened the pivot screw in very slight increments until the blade play is removed. I have had no more problems and the assist works fine.

thanks i will try this tomorrow, any idea what size fits the pivot screw on the twitch? I dont want to strip it

Sorry, I don't know the size as mine is a Trident folder. I purchased Benchmade's blue box for about $5.00 which has a bunch of different sized torque bits. It has come in handy often.
