I got one of these assisted opening SOGs in a trade and I must say this is a nice little folder.
AUS8 blade which steps it up a notch from the Kershaw competition for blade steel on most models of the same price point.
Made in the USA
Very thin and light weight
Nice hollow grind blade.
Great feel in the hand with the nice finger non sharpend serrations for added grip.
Super inovative pocket clip for tip up left or right hand carry.
Nice feature for the lock which is also equipped with a lock to keep the blade closed securely in the pocket but the added benefit of this lock for the lock is that it locks the lock bar. So, that means it is also added security for when the blade is opened also. It effectively keeps the lock bar from lifting up in either the open or closed position.
For the money this is certainly worth looking at from SOG if you are looking into assisted openers. I've had the Kershaw Black Out, Leek, Scallion, and Chive for sometime and I think I acually like this one better than all the above. The blade is for sure better. I just wonder how SOG is for customer service compared to Kershaw. Other than this it is a great buy.
