I posted this over on the EDC forums a couple days ago, but have gotten no response. so...does anyone know if a V-cutter from an SOG powerlock, or powerassist would fit/work on a leatherman wave (with, or without modification)? If someone who has both of these tools could take pictures of it please.

I'm wondering if it could take the place of the pe blade, or one of the internal (non-liner locking tools).

Thank You in advance for any help.

I have no idea.. though I'd assume not. I didn't know that the wave had removable tools. if you did use a V cutter though, I'd think you'd need to have it lock, as you are putting pressure on it in the closing direction, and if you flipped it, you'd have handle in the way for close work. am I making sense?

I own a SOG Powerassist with a V-Cutter, and personally, I think it's the most useless tool in there. NO multitool seems able to deploy a v-cutter or similar device in the desperately brief amount of time in which it would be required. If I were needing to sever seatbelts or paracord in an emergency, I'd sooner whip out my my folding knife than spend precious seconds fidgeting with my multitool to get the v-cutter into place.
I know a bigger blade stands a greater chance of injuring someone, including potentially myself, but time management takes a much greater priority in those situations.

My advice is to keep your multitool, without the v-cutter. If you really want (or need) such a device, the best ones are found on keychains and knife handles.

I completely agree that the V-cutter is useless. I bought a robertson screwdriver to replace the V-cutter as I couldn't stand it anymore
