I am looking to buy a folding knife for general purpose (ocassional cutting, campings, bbq, you name it ...). A knife which would last for many years.

The type and style of this one (SOG Vision SV68) I seem to like:

How would you rate it? Is it a good deal for the money?
They're asking for $310 in VG-10 steel.

I also see it on Ebay now, but that looks like it's (ATS-34 steel) for half the price, would that be a good deal?

Is ATS-34 worse than VG-10? (sorry don't know much about it)

Also, do you have any suggestion for a better knife (similar style) in a better price?

My budged is at around $300-$350.

the price seems to be more around $200-$220 at some of the reputable online dealers rather than direct from the manufacture.

Do you see VG-10 version somewhere online for that price?

In the $180-$220 range it's only in ATS-34 steel, that's a SOG Vision SV68 made in 2006.
