Looking for some opinions. Looks like an interesting piece but haven't seen much written about it. Any opinions??

One of the few tanto blades that I actually like. Not a chisel grind. It is a hollow grind.

A knife of high quality. Really slick action. And I have to say that I don't really like tanto blades and I do like this one.

Got my X-Ray in December to replace a beat-up SOG AutoClip. It's a great knife. Opens slick, in the blink of an eye.

I'm thinking now, that I should have gone with the plain blade. Maybe it wouldn't look so mean. When people see this knife for the 1st time, they take a step back.. ;-)

I decided to get this type of knife after watching a cab driver on TV, describe how the blade of his Swiss Army knife broke off in the neck of a pit bull he was trying to remove from the face of a little girl.
He had to go find a really large stick..
We have a few of these dogs around here too.

I've handled the titanium handle version of knife and it was just excellent.

Mind you, I only handled it for about five minutes at a knife store but I just remember it feeling very solid.

This is definitely a high-end knife, but I wish SOG would consider making other options like straight edge only blades, and perhaps drop, clip, or spearpoint models. That said, I like the neo-tanto design on this knife.

Would I get one? Absolutely. Can I afford one? Not at the moment.

It is one heck of a knife. It's edge geometry is awesome, allowing the blade to stick deeper that most others I've had experience with. It's the also the first knife whose shape I've found is good for cutting those big Easter chocolate bunnies without the chocolate chucks breaking and flying all over the place.

I had the pleasure of handling an older model Vision yesterday and was so impressed I plan on buying one as "the" tanto folder in my collection.

The handle felt very good in my hand, esp. the location of the thumb ridges. Nice blade style and grind. Just for fun I PLACED the blade on the undersaide of my forearm. About 10 minutes later while driving home I noticed a small rivulet of blood on my
arm -- that's sharp!

I look forward to picking up either the G10 version or the Ti handled one...

Best Wishes, G

Mspractice,

Glad to hear you got one and are now enjoying it. Let us know in a while what you think about it's performance. We'd love to here!
