Does anyone have the SOG Visionary I or II?

How do you like it? How does the edge hold up?
Is it easy to sharpen? ...

Note: I am posting this thread in General Forum because the SOG Forum doesn't get checked very often.

The SOG Visionary's are very good knives. I have the larger II model, not the smaller one, but the blade steel's the same. I don't find it that difficult to sharpen, but then I like recurves, & overall the blade holds its edge VERY well. I can't say it's any better than my SOG Night Vision with ATS-34 (Discontinued, unfortunately, but with thicker SS liners & G-10 scales), but it's definitely better than any of SOG's AUS 8 knives.

Once the arc-lock breaks in, I've found them to be just as smooth as B/M's axis-lock.

Hope that helps.

The II is the best SOG out there for the money in my opinion. Low pocket carry (love the clip!), VG10 steel. You know VG10 is good when Spyderco uses it on 80% of their knives.

I'd have one in my pocket if it wasn't for the black blade, but if the black blade doesn't bother you it's a must imho.

The Spec's are suppose to come out in VG10, but I haven't seen any yet. I also don't like the clip on them. There's an inch of the knife showing, but a Spec Elite 2 with a 5 inch VG10 blade for a 100 bucks is tempting.

Sorry, I think i got off topic. Visionary's are cool in my opinion, but for me I'd wait for SOG to put that bayonette style clip on a Spec II VG10.

Good Luck!
