Hey Lurp -to answer your question, get it, if not now, then later.
I see them occasionally for trade here, so that may be an option for you.
Here is a post I did a few minutes ago on another thread, that may be of interest to you.
It was posted concerning the question someone raised about the best knife they had under $250
Reasons:
1 - The Arc lock - just won't fail.
I am the worlds worst for having dirt/ lint/ Copenahagen..(yeah I know) or various grits in my pockets from wood working etc, and it just doesn't seem to get in the way of this lock, or at least has not so far.
2 - Built like a tank - I have literally driven nails with it. Sainless Liners/ Titaninum scales.
3 - ATS -34 Tanto blade
4 - It is soooo buttery smooth on the open close.
5 - 1 hand open close - even when I adjusted to where I could hold down the lock button to flick it closed, there is absolutely NO blade play left / right or otherwise.
6, Feels great in vertually whatever grip position I choose.
To be honest, this was the first killer production knife that I had. It was a gift from my Dad, and once I handled it - that's when I started digging in to find other quality manufacturers.
Actually, and this is the kicker, if I could figure out a way to round the blade spine without fearing I would totally screw it up, it would rival my Seb - for haf the cost - and that should say it all about how great a knife it is.
Don't want to sound like a commercial, but it is absolutely the finest folder SOG has ever made. I've had a bunch of them , and in my opinion none of their other flders compare to the quality, toughness, and usability (is that a word?) in the Vision.
