Ok, so I know how we feel about SOG fast hawks but, I was looking around a bit and I haven't seen much about vodoos on here. I can see how the Voodoo could catch a rap for its semi-gimmicky video game tie in and general cheepy feel but I have done cheep gimmicks before(you still owe me 29.99 Bear Grylls!) and I am curious about any honest compliments or criticism about this hawk.

The hawk was made for a game (Medal of Honor Warfighter) so it was designed to look like a "special forces" tactical hawk. As far as quality goes I don't know but is it gimmicky? Yes.

I used to think the SOG hawks were a great value. I still own several, just don't use them anymore. I've just seen them fail numerous times where someone could have been seriously hurt. The voodoo hawk is built the same way as their other hawks using the same material. Unfortunately my opinion remains to avoid them completely.

Btw....SOG......what's with the screwed on knob at the end of the handle?

I would only use them as wallhanger, if you want to work with them serious or use them as back-up tool, I'd rather buy a cold steel one (not the trench hawk, splitting wood with this thing... no no no) they are even cheaper, if you want a tactical look on them, dye the handle. I also wouldn't recommend the m48 or other hawks built this way. The steel is also cheap/crappy.
If it isn't full tang, it has to be a wood handle instead :D

Cast stainless heads and especially rabbet tangs would make me very leery of a tomahawk.
