I'm looking to try some new avenues for an EDC knife. I've used and liked the Kershaw Blur and Storm and the Spyderco Native. They've each been good in their own right, but not exactly what I'm looking for. I'm looking for something between a 3 and 3.5 in blade for general and defensive use. I'm also trying to develop a feel for what my taste is.
I've come across the SOG vulcan series recently and they look rather promising. I have, however had some trouble in deciding on which one to try. What are some advantages/disadvantages in your words between the two blade types? Is the 440 wrap on the tanto a good thing? Worth the price?
I was wondering if you would be good enough to share with me some of your thoughts on them and any other recommendations you may have, if any, even from another manufacturer. I'm a little new to this and would greatly appreciate any help or direction!
