SOG Vulcan & Spyderco Sharpmaker.

Well I've had my SOG Vulcan for a couple of weeks now and I love it! This is my first knife with VG10 steel and I'll have to admit, I thought for sure it was going to be another hard to sharpen blade like S30V or M690 but after buying a new Spyderco Sharpmaker and trying it out my VG10 is scary sharp! It will shave hair with one stroke, not 3 or 4 like you see people do. I can't get my ZT Elmax this sharp! So I guess I found the right combination. So far im very happy with my Vulcan. It's my first SOG knife.:)
 
Congrats! I recently got my first SOG and am liking it a lot too. Vulcan was never on my radar before, thanks for posting this.

The Vulcan is a very good folder. I have two of them.
I find that the VG10 retains the edge much
better than my Aus8 knives.
 
I like VG-10 and especially the way SOG and Spyderco do it. I can get it screaming sharp with minimal effort on my ceramic rod. Elmax takes more time for sure but I can get it just as sharp and it lasts much longer. Keep at it on that Elmax, it is one of my favorite steels because the mix of edge retention, toughness, and relative ease of sharpening is at a nice balance, much more so than S30V or S35vn, IMO.
 
Your welcome. Im trying to get the SOG Auto but they tell me it's for law enforcement only. I know a DPS officer that will probably get it for me if I ask him.
