Sog Warranty Question

I purchased a sog seal team elite a few months back and just recently broke it. I was chopping wood with it, about a 3 inch diameter branch(dry) and it just snapped, about half way through the serrations. Does chopping wood void the warranty? also there is a discolored spot in the blade where it snapped, do you think this is anything? the spot is a darker gray, slightly tan, while the rest of the blade is light gray. There was nothing peculiar about the wood or cicumstances. I continued to finish off the branch with an ax. It was about 70 degrees out so the wood was not frozen or hardened, there were no rocks or anything on it and the blade is not dented or chipped at all, it just plain snapped.

did you send it in yet? I had a NRA Edition and it too just snapped while batoning with it. Sent it in and SOG replaced right away with a Seal team version. Keeping that one in the box for now.
