Tok, welcome to the SOG Forum. I love my X-42 AutoClip (one of the rare Racing Red AutoClips 
) and would recommend it. The Blade shape is cool, love the feel/shape of the handle and tight lockup. Plus the Autoclip is cool. Since I have not had any experience with the X-ray Vision, I can't comment. How abotu you buy both and deside for your self?

Thanks Wildmanh! Haha it's tempting to get both but personally I don't like keeping extra things, just keep one thing each and knowing that they are the best of their kinds is more of my style. And that makes me cherish my toys more too, haha. I like the idea of having a plain edge on my folder more, just not sure how does the autoclip part hold up.

Tok, I've had my X-42 Autoclip for about 3 months now and the clip has held up great. I've scuffed it up quite a bit at work but with no ill effects. The Tini coating is holding up well too.
The action on mine was a little stiff/rough when I first got it, but has since loosened up.
Now it's my daily carry pocket knife. Since a plain edge is what you prefer, why don't you pick up a Seconds quality X-42 Mini Autoclip. That way you have the PE blade and have saved your self some money. Besides, if you ended up not liking it (can't figure out why you would, mines a keeper), I'd probably take it off your hands.Good luck and hope that helps. BTW the X-42 Autoclip makes a good pairing knife for kitchen work.
Thanks all! The verdict is in. After spending a long time deciding I still can't find myself like the combo edge of the mini x-ray vision too much. So I've purchased a X-42 mini autoclip plain edge. Got it from SOG directly and boy I just luv it!!! Quality-wise the autoclip part and generally the whole handle don't disappoint me a bit. They are soild, feel good in hand. The blade.. it's just a beaute!! The tightness of the lock and the way the blade turns are just right, and after playing around with it for a while I can now close it with one hand too!! It's a keeper!!
Now if only they will make a mini x-ray vision/x-ray vision with a plain edge tanto...
