Hi, guys.
I was examining the arc-lock mechanism on my X-Ray Vision (my favorite lightweight folder) to try to understand how it works a bit better, and I noticed the following:
The shape of the tang where it meets the locking bar is noticably uneven. One side is lower than the other, but the same side also appears to have once protruded forward more than the other, until it was rapidly worn down through usage of the lock. (The knife is relatively new.)
Is this normal? Anyone else observed this on their X-Ray Vision? Does SOG have a warranty that would cover getting this fixed?
This appears to be a manufacturing defect. The lock appears to be completely solid, but I am concerned about the geometry being a bit off from what the manufacturer intended.
Thanks,
bls
