I'm eyeballin' either the SOG X-Ray or Mini X-Ray Vision from :

www.1SKS.com

I tend toward the "mini" as it should tend to "offend" less than the larger X-Ray Vision.

What about it, forumite(s)?

I have the x-ray vision. has really good ergonomics, lock-up is excellent with the arc-lock, absolutely no bladeplay, shaving sharp out of the box, and ...... the zytel handles are GREAT! they feel more like G10 then FRN (compared to my spydie endura). :p the only down side is sharpening the tanto blade - somehow I can't get the angles on the thrusting edge to be on a similar bevel as the main edge - but perhaps it's my lack of sharpening skills:rolleyes:

Here is a thread currently discussing it, along with a link it a very nice review of the knife.

I just ordered one on Sunday:D:D
I should be recieving it on Thursday, maybe Friday;)
It won out in my huge chore of narrowing down 25-30 models of knives over a period of a few weeks...Benchmade didn't really have a unique look I was going for, although I know their quality is top notch. Same with Spyderco (except the Chinook...too big for my specifications it turned out). I found other knives had potential issues with build quality and/or things I didn't like about them, such as thin liners or over my budget for what you got.

Of course all of that is mostly subjective, but the SOG X-Ray did it for me....I love the handle and blade geometry. I did look at the X-42 Autoclip...ehh...I liked the hardness of BG-42 steel and the full serrated model, just not the handle and blade geometry...IMO, it looked too plain and more whimpy than the X-Ray. Keep in mind this is all based on pics I've seen and what I've read online - I have not handled either model....I feel I made a very informed decision, though.

I ordered the full size X-Ray because I like the 3 3/4" blade size and scaring sheeple is a new hobby of mine:D.

Warthog

No one ever said sharpening tantos was easy ;) that aside, warthog, I kinda like scaring sheeple meself;)
And so it goes....

I have the large SOG Vision, and like the blade shape a lot. What I don't like are the thumbstuds, which are long and sharp and tend to snag when extracting the knife from my pocket. I took the original thumbstuds off, in fact, and mounted a one - armed - bandit, instead. It works much better: the surface is smoother and doesn't snag, plus I mounted it closer to the tang than the original thumbstuds, in a position that's more comfortable for my hand.
