Sog

I like my Seal Pup, but there are some things that I'd change about it. The steel could be better for one, and I don't care for the serrations on the blade at all. I have no opinion regarding the powder coating on the blade one way or the other, but I am curious about why they put such a long ricasso on the blade. I do like the handle, as it is very grippy, and I like the groove in the sheath for cutting line. All in all, I think that I would rather have the Seal Pup Elite. You can get it in a plain edge (maybe you can get the plain Seal Pup in plain edge as well?? I haven't seen one) and it has Aus8 steel instead of Aus6. Mine is a good camp knife, and is a handy size to pack as long as you aren't planning on chopping down trees.

It's my fishing knife and I like it, could do with a better sheath, but beside that excellent.

I would like to see the same type of handle setup like they have on the Spec Bowie; kraton grip, steel guard and butt. Also NO SERRATIONS ANYWHERE!

Its a good little knife. I don't have a problem with the steel. Its not too hard to sharpen, takes a good edge, seems plenty tough. You can get it with a Cordura-type sheath now. Like some others, I prefer the Elite. It has a bigger handle, a thicker better blade, but is still nice, light, and compact. I have both knives. Get the Elite. I got mine in satin with a plain edge blade.
