Happy New Year everyone! I'd like to know how well SOG knives (Stainless steel and Carbon steel) hold up in cold weather and in hot. I know about how they handle hot weather, am just asking that one so people new to SOG will find out.
The reason I asked about Cold weather is cause I will be doing some Camping and hiking this winter in the Snow. And I want to know if my SOG Government, Desert Dagger and Mini Pentagon will be okay or if the cold weather will make them brittle or cause other problems. (I've heared of some knives having problems with the cold but don't recall what knives they were).
Another reason why I ask is because I have to chip the ice out of the chickens water dish and my dogs water dish every morning. Some times I even have to pry the dishes up from the permafrost (Joke for the area cause it can get DANG cold in the winter). Yesterday I used my SOG Government but since it was colder today, I used my Short KA-BAR, in favor of it's carbon steel blade.
So, should I be concerned with my knives in the cold weather (Highs around 35 Degrees F., lows around 0 Degrees F.) Stay warm everyone and have a save and happy New Year.
