Yesterday I bought a SOG Pentagon Elite with the Arc-Lock, and it's great!!! Some time ago I bought a (1st gen?) PE with a linerlock, and though I liked the knife, I didn't like the fact that the pocket clip was attached to the pivot end and interfered somewhat with the knife's action. The Arc-lock version is a definate improvement, and the action is as smooth as silk. The lockup is rock solid with no blade play. Also, the pocket clip is positioned just right to allow for an easy draw. I own several SOG products like the Autoclip, the Tomcat, the Magnadot, the PowerLock and the Pentagon Elite, but after trying the updated PE, I am sold on the Arc-lock. Kudos to all the great folks at SOG and thanks for such great products. :)

I just traded for a SOG Vision, not the same knife but the same lock and I'm sure several other similarities.

This will be my first venture into SOG's new lock and I look forward to getting it.

Glad to hear you like yours!

:D

The Vision is a cool folder too. There something about SOG knives that keeps me coming back for more, but the Arc-Lock is the thing that has won me over. I wonder if SOG will upgrade other existing folders and offer them with Arc-locks?

I have not aquired more than one Benchmade because the design of the knives they put the Axis lock on have not impressed me.

I've liked the looks of SOG locks all along but shyed away from the blades offered because they are not my style. When the opportunity came up to make a great trade and get the Vision I jumped on it.

I also hope they come out with more Arc-Loc knives that have plain edges and swept or clip points.

Mine should be here tomorrow, I'll post then to let you know my initial thoughts since it will be the first time I've handled one.

:D :D

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the kind comments about our knives. I know I'm a company rep and supposed to say nice things, but I'm excited about them, too.

We will be expanding our line the coming year with "fun toys," but you'll have to wait till January 2002 (at the SHOT show) before the products are introduced.

Cpirtle: Yes, please let us know what you think when you get it.

Someone mentioned they liked the idea of an Arc-lock Tomcat.
I second that emotion:D
Ron, are there any plans to update some of the "older designs" like the Tomcat?
How about a nice big (4.5" or so) TiNi Bowie style folder with an Arc-lock, a ltlle reminiscent of the Team Leader, which I still want, but can't find at a (even close to!!!) "reasonable" cost...
How about just an Arc-lock Tomcat?
Any chance of a large more traditional bladed Arc-lock? Help us Obi-Ron, you're our only hope!!!
Rob
