SOG's seem to sell for the same price in local B&M stores as they go for online?

I was never really into SOG until very recently. No particular reason and nothing against SOG, I was just content with other brands. Recently I was doing some shopping for non knives and went to a local gun store that was a SOG dealer and some of their knives really caught my eye, especially the Aegis mini, I just had to have it right then and I didn't mind paying a little extra over Internet cost to support the local store.

Anyway I came to be looking at other SOG's online and I noticed, the Aegis and a few other models (the store didn't have a large selection at all) were all priced exactly the same online as the LGS had them marked. Is this common or does my LGS happen to be really competitive (and freakin cool)? Never once have I seen a knife priced the same in a B&M store as online, usually B&M's sell at or near MSRP.

Is this just that one store or do a lot of SOG's sell for the same online as they do in-store?

Either your LGS is really cool, OR...perhaps he was blowing them out to move the inventory. That's been my experience whenver you see a 'great' deal in a sporting-good/gun/knife store. It simply stands to reason that an e-tailer out of his/her home has less overhead, and probably buys models in greater quantities to get a better price.

If you're wondering about SOG products pricing, they differ even with online retailers. The dealer has the right to set the price, unlike Benchmade products where the dealer has to agree to sell their products at a fixed price. A real plus for SOG imho ! :)
