I have a Sogwinder II that I got in a trade. It is a very nice knife! One question. The knife is in great shape, no scratches and the blade is perfect. There seems to be a lot of blade play in it. When the knife is closed and I shake it, the blade has side to side movement and I can hear the blade rattling in the handle. Is this normal for this knife? If the knife looked like it had been abused, I would not question the blade play. but it looks brand new, so I thought that I would ask. This is my first SOG and it will not be my last. I like it so much that I am going to buy the smaller Sogwinder I to go with it. Of course I must also find a cocobolo Tomcat. Just when I thank I have all the Spyderco knives I need, I fall in love with SOG knives and must start collecting them also.

Bear123, I would advise you to contact SOG warranty division here, warranty@sogknives.com , and explain your problem with the knife. There may or may not be a charge for this, (since you did not buy it "new") but if it were mine, it would be worth paying a few bucks just to get it right.
Sog is great about stuff like this, and it would not hurt to call or email your questions. I would say by your description that it has some slack between the bolsters only when shut. I just got a cocabola Tomcat from my buddy (Scott) RazorBack- knives, and it is an amazing tank of a knife.

My Sog Winder II has no blade play at all. Sog replaced a 10 year old Sog Winder II of mine, where the lock up was still tight, no blade play, but the lock was not flush with the rest of the handle. No questions asked, and they sent me a brand new knife.
