I almost pulled the trigger on one, but I can't quite decide. I use the gps on my iPhone a lot but it drains the battery quickly. Anyone have experience with any type of solar charger? Like how long it takes to charge etc.

I use the Brunton Solaris 12 fold up with great success in charging my wife's iPhone with ridiculous ease. If sun conditions are good to ideal then the charge time is the same as the charger in the car.

Thanks, I will check into that one. We get mostly sunny days so conditions should be good most of the time.

Don't know about GPS but I've kept a cheapie ($29.00) solar panel on the dash of my Merc and plugged into the cig lighter socket for several years. I don't drive the Merc all that often, maybe once in four to six weeks, and it often had a dead battery from all the stupid computer stuff that's on all the time and slowly draining the battery. Well, the little solar panel cured that and I no longer have a problem even after a couple of months of no use. Yea! for solar panels.
