Review of the Solar ReStore ReVive series USB device battery recharger.

A-Solar ReStore 1500mah rechargeable lithium battery with solar panel. (all accessories below come included with the device).
B-3.5 foot long USB/USB-Mini cable.
C-3.5 foot long USB/USB-Micro cable.
D-AC adapter.
E-Suction cups for attaching device to windows.
F-Charge level indicator on back on device.
G-Side view on connection ports.
H-LED flashlight on flex cable that stores in a channel around the edge of the device.

It can be recharge from the AC adapter or the USB port on any computer, using the included USB/USB-Mini cable, and by the solar panel on the front, but only a 50% charge can be achieved with the solar panel. It can be used to recharge any USB powered device using the included Mini or Micro cables. It also has a small LED flashlight built in on a flex-cable that wraps around the side and locks in place in a groove around the casing.

The charge lever indicator is on the back (F) above, and by pressing the “check” button, green LED's will show you if the device has 25-100% charge.

The controls on the side (G) above are from left to right:
LED (turns on the LED),
ON (turns unit on while using it to charge something)
OFF (Must be OFF when the device is being charged)

Operation indicator light:
RED (means the device is charging)
Blue (means the device is working to charge something)

Ports:
IN (used to recharge the device)
OUT (Used to charge other devices, using either of the included cable)

I bought this to add a solar powered option to my disaster preps, mainly to charge my cell phone, if power was out, but it also works with Kindles and pretty much any standard USB powered device.

It's small at 5in tall, 2.5in wide and .5in thick, about the size of most smartphones, and barely weighs enough to notice it.

I had just recently upgraded cell phones, so when I ordered this from Amazon, I took my old Motorola W175g and left it turned on and played the cheesy games on it, until I ran it down and it shut itself off. When the Solar Restore ReVive arrived, it showed it was at 100% already, so I connected the Motorola W175g, and in almost 2 hours on the nose, the phone was fully charged. The ReStore still had 50% power, so I connected it to my new cell phone that had about 75% charge and it topped it off and still had power. I turned the LED on and left it, and it ran about 10 hours before the ReStore was dead. I charged it with the AC adapter for 3 hours, back to fully charge, then ran the LED for almost 24 hours until it was down again, so I could test the solar panel. Set it in the sun the next day and 6 hours later it was at 50% charge as advertised. Used it to top off the charge on all 3 of our cell phones, then recharged it back to 100% off my laptops USB port with no trouble.

Very happy with the Solar ReStore ReVive, in fact if I had known it would work this well, I might have bought one with a large capacity (IIRC they make them up to 9000mah). I can see this not only being backup power at home, but due to it's next to nothing weight, being added to my B.O.B.!

Great information to come my way ... thank you.

I have been relying on my 4 way powered radio to charge my cell phone when out there, so many thanks for posting this review.
My radio is powered by AC, batteries, solar or hand crank but it can only charge my cell with AC or crank. So crank it is. And this is one of the most modern pieces in my kit :o

I like the portability of the ReStore unit and particularly that it clearly indicates the charging level. Good information.
