I have about $110 to blow on a dressy folder of some sort, something that looks like a 705-401 that isn't a limited edition. Thanks

My recommendation is the BM HK34FDP (drop point PE). I played with one today and, was suitably impressed. That butter smooth Axis mechanism coupled with a blade that looks even more impressive in person and, you end up with a folder thats extremely robust and elegant.

I'm leaning towards "high tech", yet classy..kinda like how the 690 was

Any preference as to blade length? Do you want something about the same size as the 705?

The 960 is a cutey. Other possibilities: a 921, a 14210 (that's the 3" Snody BM/HK folder - recurve, all G10, no aluminum). Or you could get a carbon fiber 770. Mine is the G10 and D2 limited edition, and to my taste it's the gentiest, coolest, highest performance production gent out there now. Get one while they're still floating around at good prices.

Garageboy, the 960 and 921 fit my hand better than my 705, but I wouldn't say they had a "fuller fitting grip" - they're both very slim.

If you want hand-filling, and aluminum is dressy enough for you, you ought to look at the 525 Mini-Presidio. I don't think of it as dressy, but it is high tech and very spiff. The recurve 14210 G10 handled Snody BM/HK folder I mentioned is dressier, but not quite as hand-filling, it looks like. I haven't fondled one yet, but it looks great and I hear good things about it.

Is a 3.5" blade too long? There are still a lot of 730/732/735 BM Ares floating around NIB. Or if you prefer aluminum, 940/941/942/943.

Thanks! If there was a silver G10 730 i'd pick it up in a heartbeat. I don't mind a thin grip, I just don't like short handles
