I figure it's ok to link my sale thread here, to give FB guys a heads up :)

I'm feel a bit sick selling this, especially after all my anticipation, haha. It's an excellent knife, but I'm not quite sure it's the blade for me, after I've gotten to handle it for a bit (no usage, just fondling to get a sense of the grip). I think the Bushfinger may be more of what I'm looking for, and I'm definitely planning to pick one up one day.

Hope someone can give this great blade a new home and solid use!

This one is SOLD.

I haven't double checked the measurements with the redesign, but I think it should be 9 3/4" OAL with a 4 3/4" blade. 5/32" thick O1, covex saber grind. I don't know what the weight of the knife is, Andy might be able to tell you that.

The weight of every one would be different. I don't know it. Its a sweet Hunter though. I'm suprised its still around. They sell quickly.

Yeah, I don't have an appropriate scale at home, sorry Rooster81.

Andy, I'm really surprised it's still around too. The longer it's sitting, the more I'm inclined to keep it and give it a little use first.

I'm only selling it because:
1) I'd like to upgrade some gear to make outings more comfy for my GF, so I can get her out camping and backpacking with me more often
2) The Bushfinger would be more compact for an all around hiking/backpacking belt knife (for me)
3) Having used O1 for a while, I'm thinking I want to try a good stainless... I want something a bit more maintenance free in the corrosion department.

Otherwise, there's really nothing wrong with the knife (and so much that's right!), and I'd keep it without reservation if I had the funds to accumulate gear and knives with impunity....

I can understand wanting to get the GF out more man, I wish you well in that endeavor. From the sounds of it you need a Bushfinger in that S35VN Andy has been working with. The Bushfinger is about the perfect do-all blade that is big enough to work with, small enough not to send sheeple into shock and be carried discretely at need, and handles like a dream. The only things that keep me from kicking myself in the ass over parting with mine is that I feel really good about where it went, I really like the guy who has it, and admire the work he does with it...plus I still get to visit it :) . I have one knife in CPMS35VN steel and I have been really impressed with the performance. I am seriously considering a saber Hiking Buddy in it later on. Looks like I may be spending some time down at the gulf coast soon.

That is EXACTLY what I need ;) You nailed it.

My EDC fixed blade is S35VN with Ban Tang heat treatment, it performs excellently in everyday use. So a S35VN Bushfinger would be awesome. CPM154 would work for me too.

A stainless Bushfinger would be sweet. Maybe Andy will come along and let you know if he is planning on working with some SS in the future......speaking of Andy, he sure has been quiet lately. Its rare a new batch isnt put up by the weekend Maybe he's on a top secret mission!

The one knife I have in that steel is a Spartan / Harsey Hunter. The edge retention is great and the toughness has been really impressive. I'd love to have a smaller less tactical style knife in that steel like a Hiking Buddy for open carry in the wooded parks in Hillsborough Co. due to the salt air, brackish water, and even the salt water on the coast. Andy's knives have a classy look that aren't so alarming to most people. I keep a larger knife in my pack out in the serious bush though, I've been out there a lot of times before and I'm not stupid :). I hate to think of carrying the Spartan out there because it is such a tactical looking knife and with it being hand ground by Bill Harsey I'd hate to lose it to someone with a badge who got the wrong idea about what I am doing out there.

Yeah, I'll be keeping an eye open and saving up in the meantime  I picked up a Fallkniven F1 to hold me over, I missed my original I sold a while back.

Nice lookin knife  Yes, the stainless is ideal for me in my area as well. I do a lot of hiking in coastal or generally wet areas, and I've gotten tired of how O1 rusts so easily in such environments. A patina works if your knife just sits in some drawer, but in practice it doesn't work because the knife gets scratched in use or if there's a little grit in the sheath. Each scratch is an opening. Your only other option is to be really vigilant about keeping your blade dry and wiping it down with mineral oil whenever you can. I don't particularly enjoy how many carbon steels are so high maintenance when it comes to corrosion resistance, so I'm looking forward to finding a good stainless knife for my outdoor activities in environments conducive to rust.

I picked up that Hunter at the Post Office this afternoon. I've really been looking for a bargain on a Woodsman, but since the Hunter is bigger than one of the standard Bush-types, so I thought that it might satisfy what I've been looking for. I believe that it will; it's substantial, but not "too big". Not having actually held a Woodsman, I can't be sure, but I think the Hunter may be a better knife for me.

I'm a fan of S35VN, but Andy hasn't made a whole lot of them. I got a S35VN Hiking Buddy (the one in the last picture Andy posted about this Hunter's batch), but they're few and far between.

I'm glad it went to a good home :)

Yeah, the S35VN Fiddlebacks are few and far between, but I wouldn't mind any other decent stainless. One of these days I'll snag a nice stainless bushfinger. Time to start saving up again.
