Sold my Benchmade auto to get more Kershaws

I'm new to Kershaw knives but recently picked up a 1660CKT Leek in a trade. I should probably ad that I have carried the same Benchmade 3500 Mel Pardue auto knife for 14 years. It was a gift for me when I got into law enforcement. Loving the knife so much I purchased a second one just to keep as a backup for my daily carry. Well, I sold the extra one this weekend and have decided to try more models from Kershaw. Having carried an auto knife for so long I always thought nothing compared to them and I honestly never look at anything else. That is until I got this Leek. Man, Im impressed with the craftsmanship and the speed it deploys. Its basically as fast and my Benchmade and actually seem to be better put together. For the first time in 14 years I actually carried a different knife this weekend and was more then happy with it.

I just wanted to share my experieces that a knife that can be had for $30 or so can preform to the same level as a $140 benchmade that I had to be in law enforcement to get. I bet I've sold over 75 of these auto benchmades over the years to officers who loved mine but could barely afford it. Hopefully I can share my thoughts with the Leek and help promote them as well. I know benchmades warranty has always been great. I hope Kershaw is comparable yet I hope to never find out. Anyway, just wanted to share that and I plan on hangin out here in the Kershaw forum in the future. ;)

Kershaw support is supposed to be legendary. I sent in a knife earlier this week to CS, with a broken torsion bar. I have no doubt they will take care of me.

I hear they are just as good, if not better than Benchmade. They also do not have an issue sending out parts, such as the torsion bar for the speed safe models - Benchmade would never send out omega springs for the axis locks. I hear they also don't mind you disassembling their knives (I mean if they are willing to send you internal parts like the torsion bar, they must allow for you to disassemble it right?) whereas Benchmade doesn't let you take apart their knives at all. In fact they explicitly state that doing so will ruin the warranty.

Glad you like the leek, I've seen a few around but have yet to handle one.

kershaw rocks. asking for one torsion bar will most likely end up with at least 4 showing up. don't get me started on the blems.

kershaw has top notch service!! and awesome products. asked for a pocket clip screw, (i stripped a screw..) and kershaw sent me 4 of those lil buggers!

Kershaw makes some of the best, if not the best, low price knives around. Not just talking about the ones from China, and they are good, but rather the ones made here in the USA. That Leek is a classic!

But the real question is; Can the Sooners take it all the way this year?!?!

Haaa...I personally think the Sooners are a bit overrated. I wouldn't bet on a national championship. I may change my mind after we play FSU. That will be a good early proving game to me.
