Hey guys, first post here and on the forums for some time now. I would like to pick up a Seb, lg and sm. I just have a couple questions. I have looked at a few reviews on youtube. In one of them, it was mentioned that with the SEBs you have to be careful not to over flex or bend the lock when applying pressure while closing it, due to the fact that they don't use the hinderer stop. Has this been a problem or even a concern for any of you? Next... I know about the classic, the regular and now the 21 (that is pretty close to the classic?). So, I have read a couple threads where the classic is referred to as bulky and the regular as more streamline. Is this the case? I'm having a hard time comparing the two. Also is the 21 just like the classic and if so is it not as streamline as the regular? Thanks and any info or opinions would be great!

I have had no problems with the lock on either of mine and personaly dont recal hearing of any one else having any either.
You really dont need a lock stop IMO the Hiderers dont need it either but it runs with the theme of that knife being super over built.

The classic/regular thing is pretty much down to personal taste.
I'm not a big fan of the classic shape my self and only own regulars.

The classic and 21 are essentially just the same knife.

The Hinderer stop may be needed on other knives, but not the Sebenza. The Sebenza Integral Lock has stood the test of time, with thousands of units seeing hard, EDC work, remaining, IMHO, the best frame lock implementation on the planet.

The Regular and Classic designs are practically the same size, the difference in feel being just the shape. That's a matter of personal taste. You really need to play with them a while. The large didn't matter to me; both felt good. The small I liked better in classic.

Unless you deliberately force the rather stiff lockbar outward, you will never have a problem with it. Moving it out just clear of the tang will not harm it. Or any decent framelock.

Thats kinda what I was thinking about the framelock. But thanks for the reassurance. Now I guess i'll have to find some place local that has them so maybe I can see the diff between the classic and the regular. Thats if I can even find a regular.
Thanks for the info guys!

Same here. I have both styles and like both styles. Currently, I'm committed using my classics for a year to see if I can do it.

Also, Seb pocket clips rest on the lockbar. They are fairly stiff and they provide a nice counter push to the lockbar when closing the knife... sort of like a "flexible" lock stop. I have 9 Sebs and I've sold or traded 3 others. None has ever had a lockbar problem and a couple of the BG42 ones were 10+ years old.

Got a reg, classic and 21,i do not think you will need them, the lock is 100% tight.............

So since you have all three! Did i I tell you that I don't like you very much right now? :D OK but really... Is there one you carry more? Is there a size diff in any of them? As far as maybe width or thickness in the handle?

The classic and 21 are bout the same the only difference is the notches on the spine on the blade,i edc them so as for a favorite, the regular cause it old......

Thanks fellas! It looks like Its gonna be pretty hard to find a NIB regular, small or large. So 21 it is! Sure I'll be more than happy with 'em.

I've had a large regular(made in '97) BG42 since '98. Still rock solid and scary sharp. Ya can't go wrong with CRK.
