I do not remember the exact usage history of each of these except that I bought them, used them only a few times if at all, and put them away so I am listing them all as lightly used and will let the pictures speak to the exact condition. If they did cut anything, it would have been carving on some small sticks.

I just checked all 4 of these. None of them have any up / down play.

Sideways there is a little movement on the two Natives but you have to twist reasonably hard to feel it. If you hold the handle with two fingers for instance and twist on the blade, you don't feel any play, the handle just twists in your fingers. If you hold the handle and shake the knife side to side, there is no movement, no sound. You have to hold the handle firmly and twist the blade to feel it. So I wont describe it as zero sideways play but also not loose, I doubt you would feel it with regular cutting - but if you are a perfectionist and twist it hard - you will find it.
