used the search function, but didn't see this suggested.

I hope this is the right place.

I think it would be helpful, if under the sections of stuff for sale (fixed blades, folders, etc..), there was a Sold category. Then, once a knife has sold, that thread gets moved to the Sold section (would the original seller be able to move their thread to sold section?) It would be a little easier, browsing the forums, to see what has sold, and what hasn't.

just throwing it out there...

In theory, it is a good idea. In practice, it would be a lot of extra work for us, having to move threads. As it stands now, most members mark their items as sold, and a few lock their threads. Spark has always left this open to the seller, a bit of freedom you could call it. I've started working with Spark on a couple things to hopfully streamline the Exchange section rules. I hope it clarifies the and ultimately simplified things for people that want to sell their items.
Thanks for the suggestion. :)

I think the big help would be to simply close the thread. This would signal there's no more business to be done.
Some people mark SOLD over the original title, so looking back to check on a knife that was for sale makes it hard to locate it.

Require they put "Sold" in the title. Then, schedule a task every night, to move the threads to the "Sold" sub forum.

We can require all we want and still most members won't do so. Which means it's just another thing to moderate. Good idea in theory, but in practice, not so much. I'd rather herd cats.

Who would be tasked with this task? It would have to be done manually the software is none too bright when i comes to distingushing these things. Again, good idea in theory....in practice, not so much.

Nobody would be tasked with it. It would be a scheduled task on the server. Run it at midnight. connect to the DB, and run 4 or so lines of sql to move/update the post, with the respective "Sold" forum Id.

Easy peasy.
