Soler Ovens

Never used one, but I could see how they might work alright. I would imagine in all but the hottest and brightest conditions you can imagine they might take a little while to get the job done, though.
 
I Have never used one but read an article about them in AMerican Survival Guide Years ago, Seems a solid concept especially if you live in the right areas. However you may be screwed if the sun doesent cooperate that day.
 
The best ones have a sealed cooking compartment that traps the heat, and greatly improves the outside temp range of operation.

Ron Hood once cooked a Pot roast on a solar oven made from a 10 foot Sat dish covered in tin foil...

They work well

How hot would you guys expect the temp to get in the oven??? Im going to build one in the summer. Here in la if you park the car in the sun all day it does feel like an over when you open the door. I dont want to build one now in the colder weather. I just know if it wont work for me i wont try it again. So might as well give it the best chance.
