I was trying to picture what a solid black 110 would look like (ie. s30v blade with black coating like the Alaskan Guide version, black stag handle, black bolsters or perhaps dark gray). Does anybody here own such a knife, any pics? Thnks in advance.

that would look pretty neat. i've been tempted to order a black blade, chrome bolsters and black smooth buffalo horn scales from the custom shop.

Actually I meant to say Buffalo Horn...but any material that is solid black with a smooth surface.

Not an AG blade, but, you get to see what the combo looks like.....kind of!

Nice! Yeah, I wish the Custom Shop would offer a black coated s30v blade (Paul Bos heat treated). That would be awesome.

I'm not much on all black knives, there are plenty of all black tacticool knives to choose from.
After first reading this thread, I thought, NO WAY, it would ruin the classic looks of the 110. You know, the wood with brass or nickel silver bolsters...

Maybe its a lack of sleep, or the pain pills from having my mouth worked on Thursday, but the more I thought about it, it might not be so bad...

Not a replacement for the classic 110 obviously, but a 110 with black coated blade, black carbon fiber scales, and somehow black bolsters, might be kind of cool looking.

I'm not so sure it will still sound like a good idea a day or two from now, but I'm liking it at the moment.

Its already a solid, and proven knife the way it is, but a version like this might just attract a whole new segment of followers...

YMMV

I don't think the color black necessarily classifies a knife as "tactical". I wasn't even thinking of that when I was trying to imagine what it would look like. I'd still like to keep the handle natural (ie. horn), rather than synthetic.
