Solid Black Scales

For my next knife, I'd like to have a handle made of solid black material. No internal pattern. I've noticed that all the micarta and G10 scales have patterns when sanded. Same with Carbon Fiber (duh).

Is my only option to use Ebony? Are there some synthetic materials that are solid black through and through? Any help would be great. Thanks!

It does have a very slight grain. The more you polish the more it disappears.

You can also slap some black dye on linen micarta before you do final sanding and polish so that the fibers don't show

Black acrylic works, but is brittle.
If you shop around, you can find a piece of solid black buffalo horn.
Properly polished, it will look gloss black.

I have a Buck 102, with completely featureless (no grain, texture, pattern, etc.) black handle, made from phenolic resin.
