I know that there are about 500 solid blade Q's, does anyone know how many plain edge there are out there? I will be getting one in a couple of days, and just wanted to know how rare they are.

thanks
Brian

Brian - Vince will probably recall better than I will (he's younger). But as I remember there were about 250 of each plain & serrated. There were also several blade finishes (this was a test run). Tumbled, Scotch Brite, etc. and different colors.

Sal,
Thanks for the info. I am receiving one in trade, and didn't know too much about them, I was not aware that they even existed until a few days ago. Thanks for the feedback,
Brian

I got my solid blade Q. Its a serrated edge, but I'm not sure of the finish. It looks like a real fine beadblast, but it also looks like there is no finish at all, Just dull, non-reflective plain Steel finish? Either way, I like it!

Brian.
We only made about 500 pcs of the solid Q.
The finish on the blade was glass bead.
We also made a few with different colored handles,Red,Blue,Green and Grey not sure if they were sold to the ELU.
Hope this helps.
Vince.

Brian- We may have gotten ours from the same place- Fellow down in Fla.? I'd always wanted a "Q" & finally ran out of excuses for not buying one- pretty pleased...Will these things ever be worth any $$$?

Rugger- I received mine from Copfish here on the forums, came from Colorado, not sure where he got it, it was new, never used, I hope it's worth something someday, although I put it in the pockets of my dress pants today, since it's so light. Now, I'm trying to find a Carbon Fiber handle cricket, I had an aluminum handled one, but lost it a couple of years ago.

Now that I know numbers, can anyone tell me why they were made? What was the reasoning behind the solid Q? were some of the skeletonized blades breaking? Thanks for any info.
