Solid white handle material?

I'm ordering a custom knife and would like solid white (pure white) overlays. Is there anything? I've seen ivory micarta that looked white, but in other photos, it's more of a cream color. I asked about white G10, but was told that it is actually trnslucent (anyone got any pics of that?). Btw, it's an Anderson Valkyr. Here's an example of what I'm talking about:

Maybe I'm just being picky, but it's what I want :D :p

I have some Ajax gun grips on some of my custom pistols. It is pure white, and it does not discolor.

I had heard a rumor that this material is the made from the dust made by machining piano keys, and then mixed with some polymer. It feels like slippery ivory, but doesn't chip.

I can vouch for that. After lots of firings, the area around the grip screws is undamaged, and that's usually where chips start.

Dylan, Texas Knifemakers Supply lists both Ivory micarta and White Linen micarta scale material. Might be worth buying the cheapest pieces of each you can and seeing what they look like. They also show an "immitation ivory" material, that too might be worth looking at, but not sure if any of them are dead white.

Jackpot! Thanks Deacon. I did a search and found some pics of kive with that material. It's exactly what I want. Then I found out it's a huge pain in the ass to keep them clean. And this knife will be used, so I'll have to go with something else, probaly something a different color.

A few makers use Corian. You can easily clean it with very fine sand paper if you need to.

Corian is a good choice. It's also used for kitchen counter tops, and some guy a while back took the extra and had knives made with it for handles to match his new counter tops. It should be easier to clean on a regular basis than to need sandpaper.

George Tichbourne uses corian.
You can see it here
Scroll down a bit.
I like it on the deer hunter a whole lot.

i didn't know that corian was used in knives!

my dad makes countertops and things for a living, out of all kinds of materials, solid surfacing included.
i always thought it would be killer to have a matching silverware set and counter
maybe a set of talonite and avonite knives? :D
(avonite is another brand of solidsurfacing, similar to corian)

here i thought the idea was origional...

corian is a brand name for a kind of acrylic, iirc
they have much cheaper alternatives out there in the market ;)

You might want to try Delrin. It's sold through Sheffield Knifemakers Supply. It's listed as being a pure white handle material.
